Expensive Gubernatorial Primary in Florida

Even though Rick Scott received the Republican nomination in Florida’s gubernatorial race, he becomes the record holder for the most expenses in a Florida primary with $37,671,887.19, according to the Florida Division of Elections. Of this tab, $30,532,606 – or 81% of his costs – was paid to Multi Media Services Corporation, which is a firm “specializing in political media planning and media buying.” Furthermore, Scott has only had $532,598 in campaign contributions when you exclude contributions he invested from his own personal fortune. As he enters the general election phase against Democrat Alex Sink, Scott told CNN there is no limit to what he is willing to spend.
