Alaskan Senator Loses Primary

Despite being the only woman ever elected to Congress from Alaska, Senator Lisa Murkowski has lost her primary against fellow Republican Joe Miller, who owns a law firm in Fairbanks. After receiving an endorsement from Sarah Palin, Miller received over $600,000 in support from a Tea Party group in California, reports the Anchorage Daily News. Additionally, Miller only received $283,473 in campaign contributions, whereas Murkowski raised $2,918,976, or over 10x’s more than Miller, according to the FEC.
