PAC Spending Soars in 2010

Following the recent legal shift in campaign finance laws for how much business interests can contribute toward political broadcasts or campaign advertisements, the top 10 communication spenders for the 2010 election cycle have already surpassed those in the 2008 presidential election cycle by $10,517,965. In an even more practical comparison to the last mid-term election of 2006, communication costs of the top 10 spenders of the current cycle have already more than doubled those of 2006. Undeniably, influences from business interests are at an unprecedented level, as the chart below shows.

With the 2010 Elections 57 days away, communication costs from PACs have already shattered the record books.
