Democratic candidate Joe Sestak has taken a 1% lead in the Pennsylvania Senate race over Republican candidate Pat Toomey, according to a PPP poll released yesterday. Polls have not shown Sestak with a lead in the race since May. This race has previously been labeled as leaning Republican, but this race has shifted to a toss-up. Additionally, a separate Morning Tracker poll released today shows a similar result with Sestak leading Toomey by 3%. With these separate polling firms showing similar shifts for Sestak, the race to Arlen Specter’s Senate seat is heating up, especially since the outcome could determine which party controls the Senate.
